Danielle & Ciaran
Danielle and Ciaran held their vineyard wedding at Longview in the Adelaide Hills. The scenery, with rolling vines in the background and lush greenery is simply stunning. Danielle wore our Dominica May gown with beaded lace bodice and soft chiffon skirt. She was looked after by the great team at Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal House in Adelaide. The wedding was captured spectacularly by Bridget Quain Photography. We recently asked Danielle a few questions about the day …
Peter Trends: How did you meet your husband?
Danielle: We met at a local pub – Ciaran was out for his birthday and (luckily) my sister dragged me out for a couple of quiet Sunday drinks. I was full of cold, but that didn’t stop Ciaran stealing a kiss….so we always joke that I was his best birthday present…. and he also ended up with a terrible cold for weeks ! ; )
Peter Trends: How did your husband propose to you?
Danielle: We were on holiday in Port Douglas. We decided to take a walk down Four Mile Beach and reached a set of stairs – a look out point. Once we reached the top I turned around and Ciaran was down on bended knee. It was a huge surprise – a perfect moment ( and very emotional).
Peter Trends: What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Danielle: The ceremony. We worked with our Deacon Andrew to create a very personal ceremony. We had family members do readings, handfasting (an ancient Irish Celtic tradition that binds hands with a chord with the infinity symbol) and a beautiful moment where both sets of parents lit the flame of our family candle – this was the part of the ceremony where Ciara (our daughter) joined us. It felt very symbolic and special.
Peter Trends: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?
Danielle: Fun, easy and surreal! I was joined by mum, twin sister and best friend and I found the dress in the last shop we went to for the day and we all just KNEW it was the one. (Danielle found her gown, the Dominica May, at Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal House in Adelaide).
Peter Trends: What did you love about your wedding gown?
Danielle: The beautiful beaded pattern on the bodice. It was simple yet so stunning.
Peter Trends: Any words of wisdom for future brides?
Danielle: To stay true to yourselves as a couple and keep it simple!
Peter Trends: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your vineyard wedding day?
Danielle: I know for Ciaran having his family over from Ireland was very special – we were very grateful that they traveled all that way to attend.
